BOTH clubs have since denied it through the HDM, Jake Webster tweeted that Shannon himself had denied it and Webster thought it was credible enough to put it on his twitter account, Scott Murrell also thought it was credible enough to retweet it on his twitter account, Wilf has happily stated that his contacts from both clubs have denied it and have stated that as far as they are aware Shannon is going home for 2013.

Now I'm not saying Humberside have got it wrong but there is a hell of a lot of indicators showing that they might well have done.
Also as much as Mike White gets it right a lot of the time I seriously doubt he is right 100% of the time and this is purely a Mike White story.

In a period always dominated by rumour and speculation, reports yesterday suggested Hull had agreed to sign Hull KR full-back Shannon McDonnell, a claim sources at both Rovers and the Black and Whites quickly denied to the Mail.

I think both clubs are aware of the reaction that will take place if they announce McDonnell has signed for Hull.

It would be understandable if the clubs had agreed that for the players sake, to keep quiet for now.

That's why I neither believe or disbelieve the denials. Obviously he hasn't signed for Rovers yet because we would have been told about that.

The longer it goes on with no announcement the more likely it is that he has signed for Hull IMO.

I will be glad when he does go or stay we can then get on with our lives he is not and never will be a world beater at the moment he is playing well lets hope until he goes he carries on playing well if he stays its a bonus

I got it the other day when I passed on info I had received from Bonsey. Fun Time Frankie and Easty have suffered similar fates recently. It seems a tradition for messengers to get shot to shreds on here lol!

The thing that I find strange is that it doesn't suit anybody - either of the clubs or the player - to release this now (if it were true). The report was too certain and detailed be be dismissed retrospectively as speculation - somebody has dropped one, I think.
The only other possibilities are in the realms of conspiracy theory and cock-up always seems more likely than conspiracy to me.
