Following this morning's developments, Wakefield can now rest assured that they will be granted another franchise.

We need something positive. Fast.

Anyone remember the disclaimer at the last announcement re: what would happen within the 3-years to clubs not fulfilling their promises?

I would imagine RW will be typing his congrats message to WTW about now - quickly followed by a mail-media statement regarding our position.

Don't think Wakey are certain for a franchise - what if the rfl cut the league to 12, to 10?

As for us, I don't envisage anything too positive ground wise for a while yet.

Deary me that's a straw clutch.

Yes I suppose it doesn't, however assuming it happens (the stadium) then it puts us above Bradford, Castleford and possibly HKR in terms of Stadium - whilst defeating Salford, London on crowds whilst equalling them on Stadia.

I hate all this franchise stuff and am not gloating, hell I'm still not sure I believe it yet.

But as I say if all is above board and happens to schedule then we are in for a 14 or 12 team league, whilst a 10 team league is just thicko Peacocks wet dream - then sorry but it's a huge leap for us.

Agree with Vastman on all point!!!
We have taken a huge leap, and TBH this conversation should be on our forum (apolgies) but it is hugely valid.
If SL is going to 12, we have given ourselves a very realistic chance of being in it, our club has changed hugely in the last 18 months and continues to, and could as Vastman suggests be putting ourselves well up the order, something prior to the demise of the old regime i didn't think would be possible.
You guys need to pull a rabbit, and i mean that sincerely!!

sort of agree, but how do you beat Hull KR, when at present they are upgrading their stadium?

Without getting into another tedious battle, we also have funding in place or at least that's what the DE was willing to accept - until you dispose of WR you don't. Hence he leap.

However until it's built I remain only cautiously optimistic , but content we are moving forward.

I'm basing that on the plans I've seen - ours will be 100% new whilst HKR is part older part new and only a three sided ground for now. I's marginal but then franchise is - also they can do them for that too near another club one unless that's been dropped.
