Please don't think we're all like that snowie. I for one am sick and tired of the whole stadium(s) thing and the tactics used by the RFL to erode any sense of respect between fans is taking the game down a road I don't want to be a part of.

I agree Steady, but this little "spat" was started by taking a quote from a different forum completely out of context to have a dig at a certain poster and that needs to be pointed out.

Rant over!
"Castleford's biggest home crowd of the 1991-1992 season wasn't quite 12,000 while on average they'd sit around 6000 but the noise, the chanting and the singing just blows you away" - Tawera Nikau "Standing Tall"

"I can tell you the atmosphere was extraordinary at Wheldon Road on big days. The ground held around 15,000 people, every one of them close to the action on the field and the noise would be enough to send a rumble through the town" - Malcolm Reilly "Reilly - A Life in Rugby League"

Exactly. So if I billeted on here, as WMDC ratepayers, you'd have a good old whinge about that. Therefore, that's why I aimed it at Cas fans on a Cas forum.

This has nothing to do with Newmarket failing. IIRC, I was actually talking about upkeep of a Newmarket Stadium, which if I'm right implies it will be built.

Many of my friends are out of work, I believe like many others that Ponte hospital needs sorting out and I use public transport to and from work every day of the week. I also drive a lot and use public roads. These are all priorities when it comes to the Council Tax being spent in the local area. I'd have thought you would have agreed?

Well you can put your simple mind at ease - the new jobs (and hence tax) and council tax that will be paid by the industrial unit occupiers, will more than cover any maintenance costs of the stadium. Why not drop this transparent "won't somebody think of the children" facade and just admit that you believe that Wakefield gaining a new stadium will be to the detriment of Cas? There's no shame in that, but there's plenty in pursuing this bizarre "Jekyll and Hyde" routine that you do so badly.

Post of the day!

Got to love the desperation of Fully and co, playing the 'council tax' card and trying to suggest that the provision of first class sporting facilities for the City shouldn't be a priority; in case you missed it over there in the small town in Wakefield, we're facing a national public health crisis and our City has been outed as having a chronic shortage of sports facilities.

It's painfully clear that you like to obfuscate, but you are very aware that unlike Castelford's plans, the NM development is for a Community Stadium and will include pitches and training facilities for youth and amateur teams, as well as a hub for Wakefield College, which will strengthen it's bid to become a University. Your increasingly desperate naysaying of the scheme is at best pathetically parochial and at worst, shows a startling lack of care for the wider benefits the development will provide to the whole district.

People like you are the reason everyone laughs at Cas; shame on you Fully, and your small-town cronies.

Hoping to get a decision before the end of the coaching staff, but if not I think I'll move on to the dolls rather than the reserves or academy, at least that will be some light relief.

Re the council paying for upkeep: they don't have any money, so they can't (where have I heard that phrase before?).

If it were not for the economic situation though, I don't see any issue with the council paying for the maintenance of the much needed community sports facilities (minus the stadium) as they should be responsible for them, not only their upkeep but also their construction, so WMDC will do rather well out of the deal.

The best laugh was the poster somewhere who highlighted the potential increase in childhood asthma in the area due to the increased traffic at the site. Next to 6 lanes of one of the busiest motorways in Britain? not sure of the significance.

On the other aspect of rental cost. How much of the capital for the build will the stadium trust be expected to pay back?

Who pays for maintenance on that poxy bridge, i am a Wakey ratepayer and i didn't want it and will never have need to use it, total waste of money and all it does is give shelter to the trolls.

What a waste of taxpayers money and its got toxic paint that will harm the fish.
Lets start a forum just for Wakey fans, we can all back slap each other and not have anyone to tell us any different, i want to be the club puppy and make myself look stupid time and time again.

I agree Why feed the trolls, tell them to go away and sort their own club out/ground or come and join me and other WF10 wildcats...
FLEETMASTER STAND THE HOME OF THE NORTHSTANDERS

"Quote" But perhaps most impressive is another bumper Wildcats home crowd – 9,237 for a Saturday TV game in the cold and wet is a fine effort from one of Super League’s most progressive clubs "Gareth Walker the Mirror"

What he is saying is that the Wakefield rate payers should not pay for maintenance of the stadium part of the development and I would think that the Wakey ratepayers would agree. How is that devious?
