i think we should just take a moment and calm down.tommy could have got injured at anytime during the season.do we blame everyone and everything.we just need to get some rational thinking and move on.I don`t think wane will be panicking ,he will just say this happens in contact sport and deal with it.I`m glad wane is coach and not some irrational ,over the top fellow wigan fan.
Been in Wales for the weekend so I have only just heard about this, not even seen the full game yet.
Seriously gutted.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

Precisely. We could sign anybody and they could get injured in the first minute of the first game (Luke Davico). It's a chance for somebody else and there's a reasonable run of games for them to bed in

What you are forgetting is he didn't get injured playing in the competitions Wigan are involved in or playing for NZ. Had he done so then I would agree with your point. Had Sam got injured playing for the Barbarians at RU I would have been equally furious. Any situation that results in a player lost to the team in a meaningless game has to be questioned.
Let me ask you a question. Do you think Finch should play in the next Exiles game?

Exactly. It's a contact sport, every time these guys play they know there is a chance they could get injured, it's just really unfortunate for Tommy that he did.
I wonder if Shaun Wane might try and pursuade Paul Deacon to come out of retirement. Seem to remember Rads doing exactly the same a few years back. Dont forget he and Finch were the half backs this time last year for us. Am sure Deacs would jump at the chance if asked.

I suggested this on another thread and would really consider it a good option also he can take the kicking responsibility from Josh

Denis Betts was an outstanding player (I don't get how anyone could think otherwise unless they only saw him later in his career when he had slowed down a bit) - similar to Joel Tomkins but better, fast and strong and hard.

Betts was World class as a second rower. He had speed and strength to burn. It's no coincidence that he was around when we won the 8. He won the Lance Todd and Man of steel for Gods sake ! I'm hard pushed to name an Ozzie that would have been better.

Similar to Hoffman but better. All round complete SR forward. Anyone who says otherwise couldn't have possibly seen him play.

Sam Powell just tweeted me back saying he's back playing in a couple of weeks. He could come into the equation?
"Games as big as a grand finals define individuals and clubs. Remember we are only renting these shirts, I had my time in Pat Richards shirt. Ellery and Faz had there time in Sean's, Hampo and Radders in Sam's. You have to make a mark in these shirts that's still there the day you hand it over to someone else. So be aware for 80 minutes you are not only playing but also writing history and creating a legacy. How many people get to actually write history, not many. A big stage demands big players, be inspired. You play for Wigan, now go do it. Good luck." - Martin Offiah, 2010.

This is one of the big problems with RL.
These games are designed to improve the England team for the international game. Sadly, by the majority, the international game is seen as meaningless. They'd rather get back to their petty inter-club bickering.
If anything Leuluai should be chastised for going into the tackle like that. He only has himself to blame.
