So that's eight players I'd replace with one already gone making 9 players going out the squad. If we can replace that spare cap space with a couple of quality backs and another hard hitting forward then we would have the makings of a cracking side.

I'm gonna take a guess at how much cap we'd save.

Watts = 50k
Griffin = 20k
Netherton = 35k
Carlisle = 20k
Beaumont = 15k
Wheeldon = 40k
Clinton = 110k
Latus = 20k
Johnson = 15k

Thats 325k I still don't think we are working anywhere near full cap having let

All go last year so it comes down to our financial position and how much salary cap the board want to use and give to Craig Sandercock to play with. Don't see why we can't be 500k below the cap at the seasons end.

Agree with that mate, he's good to have in the squad, cheap, versatile, he's no world beater but pretty reliable.

What is your point, Easty? You've already stated 8 are coming in. What are your assumptions on their salary levels vs the bit part players you are proposing to bin off (Clinton excepted)?

I would think Nevo would be on a fair bit more than 35K, certainly more than Wheeldon and at least as much as Watts (if the 50K is anywhere near right).

Has he signed for Castleford, Currently only a rumour isn't it? Still the list is only my opinion of the players that I would like to keep.

The comment about 8 players coming in was initially made about two months ago. I'm pretty sure all these things are subject to change and with the squad hitting some form I'm guessing players which where rumoured to be going earlier in the season may yet be offered deals to stay.

My whole point was that I feel where not at full cap and we'll have an even bigger proportion left at the seasons end.

So if it's,say, 6 in, including Lopini Paea and a couple from the NRL, they'll cost less than your 9 going out?
