Miller to Support Cooke

Dons' head coach Tony Miller and club conditioner Pete Bell will both run with Paul Cooke on day six of his marathon event on Monday.

Today (Saturday) Paul completed marathon number four in his quest to raise over £5,000 for Hull's Dove House Hospice who provided first class care for his mum during her illness last year.

Dons' star half back Cooke set out on his 180 mile journey on Wednesday morning and has been overwhelmed with the support he has so far received and the funds he has raised currently stand at around £2,000.

Miller said: "Pete and myself will join Paul on Monday and we will give him our full support on what is proving to be a very tough challenge.

"It's an amazing thing what he's doing and I know the club's staff and players are proud of his efforts.

"Paul has today passed the half way point and I hope our support will help him along the way."

Six Down, One to Go!

Dons' head coach Tony Miller today (Monday) made the short journey to Hull to run a marathon with Paul Cooke on day six of his epic challenge.

Paul is aiming to run seven marathons in seven days to raise much needed funds for Hull's Dove House Hospice. Tomorrow (Tuesday) sees Paul participate in his final run and will finish the 26 mile course at the Hospice who provided first class care to his mum, Christine, during her illness.

There will be a special charity event at the Lizard Lounge in Hull on Tuesday night to celebrate Paul's achievement. The event starts at 7pm and tickets are £6 each which includes a glass of champagne on arrival.

There will be performances by Leroy Vickers, DJ, an acoustic set by Jay Lawson, an auction and raffle and much more entertainment - contact the hospice on 01482 785743 to purchase a ticket or email fundraising@dovehouse.org.uk.

Paul is hoping to raise £5,000 for the Hospice and is around the half way mark so far. If you would like to support him - please visit his fundraising page at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundrai ... aulCooke06

Says it's a grade 1 , so hopefully with a bit of rest he'll be ok. As has been said the game against Gateshead, no disrespect to them, should be winnable whichever side we put out, south Wales, more difficult but still expect to win. Hope he's fit for the two games against the cumbrians.
