If there is any truth to these Bateman rumours, we'd be better off saving our money and waiting for them to go into admin. Harsh world.
Me: I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.

knockersbumpMKII: Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm

But is it worth paying up to avoid the hassle of having to outbid other clubs? What if Bateman turns around and says "F it, I want the biggest wedge", and clubs with more money left on the cap than us chuck it at him whilst he's a freebie?

I'd rather the club paid up and got their target, rather than wait for him to be a free agent and possibly lose out.

Bateman's agent will no doubt be telling him to hold fire on agreeing to anything. The less a club has to pay as a transfer fee the more the player can hope to get as a salary. Bateman is in the driving seat, he has to agree personnal terms even if Bulls try to sell him so could go to a club who offers less to Bulls if he is offered a bigger salary. That's of course if the Bulls think they may be forced to try and sell before (if) the administrator takes over....

That is true for football but the salary cap can stop that happening in rugby.
The best way to predict the future is to create it...

true to an extent, but Bateman's agent will sound out all clubs once it is clear if he is leaving the Bulls and will get the highest possible deal that suits him and his client. So in effect if anyone wants him badly enough they will have to make sure they can accomodate him on their salary cap, if he is transferred before end of season clubs will have to have space now on cap to take him...Could be some loan deals or dual reg. being made now to make space on some clubs books.....

Not looking good for Bradford. The investors that were interested in putting money into the club are apparently not willing for their money to be simply used to pay off the Bulls tax bill with the Revenue.

Rugby league is finished, never has the product been watched by so few from the terraces or tv and never has the product been played so badly by so many.

I long for the days of fear of relegation and potential extinction of our clubs.

the game was miles better in the 80s as was soccer darts snooker and music and fashion.

we should continually look to the past if we want to progress.

we should not waiver in our continual bitching about sky tv, london and the playoffs.

we need to keep up this image of being moaning never content insanely jealous bitter and backward northerners up our we are in danger of making our sport look attractive.
