I fully expect an official announcement from the club stating Chase is going nowhere and offers aren't welcome. Whether that puts a pin in this rumour or ups the offer who knows. I can see Chase playing in a Cas shirt for at least another season.

unfortunately cas saw this coming and did the smart thing by making him sign a lengthy contract (better than letting him go for free) at least make some money put it towards a new stadium etc
I think you are right - and fortunately for us - we did see it coming and many posters on here predicted this in September last year when he re-negotiated his contract and added another couple of years onto it.

We couldn't make him sign but I get your drift. I have often suggested here, and on other forums that Chase signed an extension not in the certainty that he would see it through but in the expectation that the club would reap some benefit from his eventual departure. If that is the case it could be argued that in the interests of CT he effectively condemned himself to what we all suspected would be another fruitless season. We should thank our lucky stars for Rangi Chase as a player and as a man...the club has been, and will be, far richer for having him.
If he had said he had no interest in playing for a club like Wigan he would stand accused of lying and I've no reason to believe he has been any less honest when declaring his love for our club. But no-one should expect that love to blind him to where his future and that of his family might be better served.
Hopefully if you get some good news on the Stadium issue this may either persuade him to stay or if he does go replacement with someone of quality will be easier. As you know at the moment it's hard to get decent players to clubs with clouds still hanging over them. Hopefully brighter times for both clubs.

And I agreed with you at the time.
If I were Roger, I'd have agreed to sign that contract extension knowing full well that it wouldn't be enforced, on the proviso that I got 10% of the subsequent sale price.

I don't think a decision by the current England scrum-half to either stay at a struggling Cas Tigers side or move onto a team who are currently in scintillating form and setting the bench-mark in SL would have anything do with what your stadium looks like. At the end of the day - its all about the wonga and of course winning some silverware.
BTW - Nice try in your attempt to change a thread about a player into another stadium one.
