Patten was probably having a moan because the ref disallowed their try.

The disallowed try by Ashurst was unlucky as we've all seen them given this season. However, maybe the ref was evening it up for the American Football style pass for Broughton's try in the first half

That was a disgusting bit of refereeing. Where were the touch judges??

As was the ridiculous sin binning of Ferres for throwing the ball away, yet when Patten kicked the ball full pelt in to the crowd nothing was done!!

What was much more disgusting was that Patten kicked it with so much power it could have clearly hit a fan in the crowd and injured them too.

Ferres delayed a 20m restart - it's an automatic sinbinning and has been for about 7 or 8 years - he was correctly sinbinned and it was a stupid thing to do.

The general feeling around us with the Patten one was that he booted the ball in frustration as he dropped it rather than on purpose. It wasn't a particularly great show of sportsmanship though.

I thought it was great bit of gamesmanship from Ryan. The ref (was was filling in for Silverwood) didn't stop the clock and Ryan saw this so had a chat with him. Superb stuff.
