Wakefield's ground is a joke. A stand behind the posts with roofing only covering 2/3rd. There are about 8 steel girders with some corregated sheeting on top. Down one side of the ground there is a similar amateurish erection about 30 yards long. If Glover was the rich man he purported to be why didnt he do the job properly. They probably wont get planning permission for the new ground anyway because of all the objections by Leeds City Council Residents.
Doubtful whether Wakefield Met woulld allow two grounds to be built so close to each other. Castleford already have full pllanning permission,Highways would have to be involved to create access from M62. Wakefield may have plans for a new ground but it won't be at Newmarket.

Be prepared to be disappointed Scabbycat. It will be passed this week. CT need to get a move on.

Final warning for everyone - if the thread keeps off-topic and people keep trying to points score the thread will be locked and warnings/bans will be given for the offenders.

Well said Willzay, let's hope both clubs get their stadiums passed and built, and then we can continue our local rivalries for years to come.

Hardly, the supposed interested party have a main goal of getting the new stadium built ASAP and the name floating around have the funds to chip in a bit each to get it built and sell WR at a later date.

As for the rest of this thread:
Fully: stop posting daft comments about how Cas can start building the stadium tomorrow. It just incites the off topic posts.

This thread is about the proposed stadium at GLASSHOUGHTON not NEWMARKET too so keep on topic.

Erm...it wasn't daft at all - I take insult to that. It was a factual post, which is true. Any stadium thread on here is jumped on by Wakey fans - you should know that by now.

Public criticism of the moderation process is a violation of the AUP.

I suggest that the new Sherrif in town earns his spurs by issuing Fully with a lengthy ban.

RL forums are not the place for grammar police, but...

[pompous mode:]

Compare:
We can build a stadium. (have the ability to)
We may build a stadium. (have permission to)

Unfortunately, 'can' has replaced 'may' in most situations in common usage; "can I leave the table?" rather than the seemingly outdated "may I leave the table?" despite being, arguably, incorrect.

Further confusion is caused by 'may' also being used as an expression of permission, possibility or wish.

Previously, 'might' would have been used for possiblity, 'may' for permission and 'can' for ability to avoid all this confusion.

So, in summary:
Cas may build a stadium. (They have permission)
Cas might build a stadium. (It is possible)
Cas cannot build a stadium, at the moment. (They do not have the funding in place, yet.)
[/pompous mode]

I hope you get there. It would be an excellent achievement for the club and the location is superb.
