I asked Gus about the review at the weekend and he told me it was still ongoing as they wanted to make absolutley certain the same mistakes were not made again and when the decisions were made they would be the correct ones and the ones which were right for the club. Make of that what you will. If RB has been told the review is finished then Gus was being untruthful. If Gus is telling the truth then someone has been untruthful to RB. Whichever one it is we will probably not be told till the end of the seaon. Rumours are always rife, I heard at the weekend we were getting an Aussie coach with SL experience for next season and RP is being moved to the academy - who knows - who cares anymore ..........
Despite it all, damn it, I do, after 32 years, I would miss this club like losing a family member.

[quote="rosetintedspecs"] .....he told me it was still ongoing as they wanted to make absolutley certain the same mistakes were not made again....quote] I have only 1 question left for Gus and for David Hughes. What was the point of the re-birth of the London Broncos Brand?
I sincerely believe that between the 2 of them, David Hughes and Gus MacKay would have difficulty in organising a mickey up in a brewery .....I seriously don't know whether to laugh, cry or weep hysterically.......

As RTS says, we won't hear 'til the end of the season (near as dammit anyway) but if DH says we are in the middle of the review, then I've no reason to think otherwise.
Rumours are just that and I have heard quite a few that have been total garbage over the years (Mac getting sacked was one!).
Re our re-branding, it may not have brought us thousands of extra fans but I can understand why it was done (maybe Quins didn't want to be associated with us anymore).
Welcome Quins Kitties born 02.04.09 - Purdo - Determined, loveable with a "can-do" attitude. A born leader. Louie - Big, white and fluffy. A very noisy prop forward. Harley- Cute and gorgeous (just like our no.9) Well, I couldn't call her Chad, could I? Update on Quins Mogs :- Purdo - deffo leader amongst Mogs. The Capo. Louie - turned out to be more like Louie Spence than LMS. Re-named Judas. Harley - Cute but not as gorgeous as our no.9. Oh well, at least I haven't got a Willy.

Mackay can now explain some of the background behind the reversion to the Broncos. “At first I was privileged to be appointed CEO of Harlequins RL,” he admits. “But I soon found myself explaining to people that we were not the union club. And even then they’d say ‘but you beat Wasps last week’. That convinced me the name wasn’t working. “We consulted fans and players – 90 per cent wanted London in the new name and 60 per cent wanted Broncos. We also engaged a creative company with the brief that we didn’t want London Broncos as a title, purposefully to get people to think differently. But ultimately we opted for Broncos, despite all that had gone before, and to be honest it’s what our chairman David Hughes wanted.” How did Mackay feel about that? “I was 50:50 because I could see the benefits of a fresh start. But the negative side is the marketing you have to do to get that new name out there. With ‘Broncos’ the job is half done. Research shows that when we became Harlequins people stopped supporting us, particularly those who liked Rugby League but supported other union clubs in London. There was no way they were going to support any team called Harlequins. And there is a group of League supporters who feel the same.” Would it be fair to say that the name had led, at least in part, to the slow attendance decline the League club has experienced? “I believe it did,” he admits. “Supporters of Rugby League see themselves as different, not an addition to a union club. Hopefully those people will return. Originally there was a hope that all Harlequins union season ticket holders would become League season ticket holders. It never worked – two different games, two different supporter groups. Union people already like their own game.” And vice-versa, of course.– GUS MACKAY
As for not bringing in thousands of extra fans ...if ever there was an understatement hall of fame, that would be up there in the top 10 of all time
Like for Like, with Widnes replacing Celtic, we are 8% down on gates.......in this same article above Gus is quoted as saying...
I’m not saying we’ll have 10,000 people every game next season, but I think we’ll take steps towards that.
....now call me old fashioned, but taking steps towards 10,000 doesn't involve less fans than last year....

I always find Gus upfront, he always answers questions direct with me. Yes I would have liked to see the review completed quicker, but I do accept that it has to be thorough, with the solutions ready to implement fully, not just sticking plaster to placate current dissatisfactions.
Last week I made comments & concerns to GM he came back quickly & offered to meet up if I needed to discuss it further.
It is always easier to stand at a distance, see problems & feel angry.
Just hope we get this review right that is what is most important.

Gutters - I don't care why we reverted to the Bronco...we are where we are and no point going on about it this far into the season.
How you think you are helping this club in going on and on and knocking everyone and everything I don't know. Can't remember the last time I saw a positive or Well done post from you. You had the chance to redress the balance on the dig at the Evening Standard thread but I see you chose not too.

I'll post about something positive when something positive happens. Be sure to let me know when that happens....

We won a match! There was even some passion in the play (definitely on that final try).
There's now a couple of weeks off, with most players getting a rest and a couple being called up to the international matches (good on 'em).
Then we have two matches against teams who are on the ropes, so we have a better chance than a few weeks ago against them. I'm not sure the Huddersfield match will be a win, but Leeds at home, they don't get a week off and they have a buttload of players called up to the internationals too. So I've regained a bit of hope about it.
Plus I'm bringing my lady to the match and she's never seen Broncos lose (she came to Wakefield and Castleford), so for the superstitious amongst you that's a good omen.

Those of us who are Positive Dan have to hope that we can move forward and that changes will come, but whatever is said or done now will not make any difference with a very very small minority.
