There's about 8 of us coming over for the game on Saturday as it's my birthday on Wednesday. We were going to make a day of it and go for a meal beforehand.

The Carr Mill on the East Lancs has been suggested and I just wondered what the general opinion was. Is it any good? I've seen they do a Man v Food-style challenge for a tenner.

Carr Mill is brilliant place for some decent priced grub.

They did a 1kg burger challenge, or something similar, but I'm not sure whether they still do it...I haven't been for a few months.

Carr Mill is nice food.

There's also the raft of Chinese buffet restaurants in the Town Centre which are within walking distance of the stadium.

Burchall's butchers on Westfield street. Get a couple of pies. Best meal you could ever want.

And in the one on Bridge Street you get 10% off if you produce your match ticket/season ticket.

The Frog or The Chinese at the top of Hall Street, both close to the station and decent if your not after the usual out of the freezer ding meals of the afore mentioned chain pubs. Not budget but both carry very good daytime prices.

Then The George is only 30 yards away with a Ciderfest on selling 17 different ones as well as the usual Bavarian Imports and Black Sheep Cask.

Depends your tastes and whether or not you view quality by quantity to price or actual standard of the fare.
