Bank Holiday Monday ...

Old Angel ... Oakleaf Brewery May Bee Mild 4.6% ... very nice :)

Cask Corner ... Welbeck Abbey Brewery ELIS Sweet Dark Mild 3.8% & Marlpool Brewing Company Otters Pocket 4.0% ... both nice but not as nice as the May Bee Mild.
Nothing that’s worthwhile is ever easy ... Sometimes I need to remind myself of that!

The older I get the more I become a firm believer that the things we regret most in life are the things that we don't do!

Nearly forgot ... Last Monday in Leeds ...

Mr Foleys ... Tyne Bank Monument Bitter 4.1%
Victoria Hotel ... Brains Milkwood 4.3% and Thornbridge Frank As Apollo 4.6%
Becketts Bank ... Jennings Sneck Lifter 5.1%
Prince of Wales ... Wychwood Hobgoblin 4.5%
Leeds Brewery Tap ... Midnight Bell 4.8%

Milkwood, Sneck Lifter & Midnight Bell are particular favourites and the Monument was also very nice. :)

Frank As Apollo was a little too fruity for my taste (but If you don't try you won't know).

York yesterday ...

Pivni WBF ... Highland Brewing Company (Orkney) St Magnus 5.2%
Last Drop Inn ... Dowbridge Gladiator 4.5%
Golden Ball ... Maxim Maximus 6.0%
Maltings ... Nottingham Brewery Centurion ND 4.9%
York Tap ... Thornbridge Lord Marples 4.0%

The latter pair I've had before with Lord Marples being a particular favourite. Of the other three, marginal preference was for the Dowbridge ale ... not a bad drink all day though. :)

Black Sheep Bitter on good form in the Barnsley Oak at South Elmsall earlier this week as was the Old Mill Traditional Bitter in the Bay Horse at Heck.

If I go to the Bluecoat in Rotherham, I simply cannot resist Acorn Gorlovka if it's on and today was no exception. At 6.5% it is a deceptive, therefore dangerously drinkable porter.

Consumed a lot of great ales last night down Cottingham Road and Newland Ave in Hull. One which stood out was called Doom, very nice. :) Didn't get to keep a record of the ones I tried, but did the following places (which I recommend to anyone who comes to Hull at some point):

Gardeners Arms
Koo Bar
Xanders
Toffs
Larkin

 :)
