Batley have hammered Hunslet 56 10 at the Mount.

Halifax have won 30 16 at Keighley. Remarkably, it was apparently only 5 tries to 4 to Fax. Halifax converted all their tries. Believe most, if not all were under the sticks. It seems Danny Jones missed EVERY single attempt at goal for the Cougars, albeit including some tricky ones.

Despite the relative parity in tries scored, 'Fax were by far the better side and played some good stuff once they kept the ball away from Thackeray for a bit. Keighley didn't half play some dumb rugby at times but they will be left wondering what they might have achieved if they starting to perform much earlier in the game.

I see Harrison has caught the country mile disease. Implying you won at a canter, never hit top gear, and the score didn't reflect your superiority. Oh and you're still developing as a team.........
Sorry folks, but no Forecast Comp this year

To be fair to 'Fax they always kept Keighley at arms length. Keighley were pretty dumb at times and just couldn't cope with Halifax offloading in the tackle.

Hear hear ... sumss the game up perfectly.

We were inches short of the line twice when we were 30-8 up, and would have blown them away in the last ten if we;d have scored with either attempt.

as it stands we took the foot off the gas abit (which KH will recognise as an area for improvement.)

Keighley got two late scrappy consolation tries, both in the corner.

our defence and attack was far better than Keighley, although they did throw out some silly balls and make too many mistakes.

The fax team has taken a while to click properly, and at time early in the 2nd half yesterday we looked a very good side.(still with 4/5 injuries)

I would say your main issue is still going to be at half back - Thackeray is so predictable, but Handforth worked quite well with willing runners. Aizue is in the best shape I've seen him for a long time as well.
