Sad to hear Gavin has left the club from last night's q and a,apparently he's given up playing altogether. He's done a great job for the Cougars, our only player to get in the champinship 1 dream team last year, says a lot to me that, helping to put us where we are now.A player who gave everthing for the team and in my view a loss to the club.Good luck mate for the future,Tony.

I cant get my head round it,, to loose such a fantastic player, he wasnt just a winger,/fullback.. he could have played several positions , i would have liked to see him play hooker / scrum half.. he loved to get involved, ive seen him taking the "forrods" on from dummy half, best of luck lad still cant beleave it.

Gav has given us some great moments over the years and he will be missed.

Whilst most who put the shirt on give a huge effort, Gav will always run his blood to water and chase everything.

In my opinion, he has a lot of rugby left in him and I hope he doesn't stop altogether.

Here is the vid I did of him in 2010.

I agree with all that.

I love seeing local lads in the team, they always add something extra.

Good luck Gavin.
I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!

Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.

Our Gav always gave 150% when he put on the cougar shirt and has always loved his club and fans. He has been named twice in the championship dream team which is a huge achievement for any player, he also hasn't been short of a try or two over the years.

I could be wrong but from what I know it isn't set in concrete yet that he has left, I believe he has taken some time out from the club with an option of returning.

Gav has always and will always be grateful for the support he has received from the cougar fans over the years.

Let's hope that he will return. As others say - he's always payed his heart-out for the Cougars and never let us down.

It was always a pleasure to see Gav play. Players can be taught to tackle and catch a ball but his ability to turn players inside out with his steps off either foot is something that cannot be taught.

In my opinion with ball in hand one of the most exciting players ever to wear the cougars shirt and he.should be proud of all he has done.

Gav is a shining example to every young local aspiring Rugby League player.

I won't beat about the bush, he wasn't the most naturally gifted player, nor was he a particularly great athlete. But he more than made up for his shortcomings by showing great heart, determination and tenacity every single game. Do that every game and the fans will always love you.

I wish him nothing but the best. And I'm sure that if he wishes to carry on playing in the future they'll be a host of clubs wanting him on their side.

I hope Gav reads this forum, or that someone might direct him to it so as he can see the extremely high regard in which he is held. If that lad never pulls on a rugby league jersey again it will be an absolute crying shame, whether it be a Cougars jersey or that of another club. It's always a bit of a cliche to say someone always gives '110%' but if anyone does it's Gav Duffy.
