Didn't someone (I think it was Easty, apologies if wrong) post that you had 11 out and 8 quality coming in?

That should lead to a few thousand posts!

Quite bold. Who do you think they will be? Apart from Paea, obviously. Personally I think the standard of SL will go down several notches as the likes of Tommy Leueluia and Brett Finch are replaced by such as Matty Smith. Interested to hear which trade-ups in quality terms Rovers are linked with. Tough market it seems.

Matty Smith already plays in the Super League for Salford.

I know. But he doesn't play for the runaway top team, does he? Not sure what your point is.

Matty Smith has played in a Grand Final as a young player and is certainly a better player now. Wigan currently have Mellor and Russell out on loan at other Super League clubs ready to come back as better players. (Spoke to young Russell last week in Sugar Mill. Nice kid, bit of a midget, cant hold his beer).
Potentially Wigan, England and Super League could be stronger next season for losing the 2 overseas players.

But I was using Leuleuai and Finch as examples, hence my use of "the likes of". Interesting point of view to think that Wigan will be improved by losing those 2 and that Smith will be operating next year at a level above what they do now, not one that I share. I think that we'll see the impact of players like Brett Hodgson, Adrian Morley and Steve Menzies retiring (signed on deals in the UK before the NRL cap increase) and perhaps the best British players are tempted to follow Graham and the Burgesses (ultimately Tomkins, maybe Briscoe, for example), so the absolute quality will decrease. In which case your prediction of Salter and co climbing the steps at Wembley next year, I think, could well be realised.

Excellent reference to Russell's drunkenness BTW. Were you sharing a tap water with Sandy?

Wigan will be better next year than this, i'm convinced. Assuming of course that Sam Tomkins isnt tempted away.

You will remember the list of names that gave a couple of years ago that i said would star for Rovers next season. Lets see how far out i am.

With regards Russells drunkenness, i was actually out with a Championship player who is sitting on a full time contract offer from Hull for next season. He wasnt drinking water either.

Did you get past first base?
'Time has come to air the voice of reason, in a world gone mad, adrift on banal seas, for all who feel that lies have had their season and whose hearts cry out instead for honesty. For all the weary souls grown bored with dreaming, this thirst for beauty and for knowledge goes unslacked. For all who want to wake from what is dreaming to know what's real and what is real to embrace. For all who've watched with mounting horror, evil's rein upon this world grow ever clear, for all who've prayed in vain, emancipators, wielding swords of truth and laughing without fear...naaaaaaa'

Fair enough

You said they'd be more than starring for Rovers, you said they'd be climbing the steps at Wembley. Or was it Old Trafford? Looking a safe prediction either way, maybe both, with 8 trade-ups arriving soon.

Right. Just so we're clear, then, we can post about players out drinking. Maybe even Rovers ones seeing that this is the Rovers board. Obviously hypothetical under the tap water regime.
