Genuine question here,
With all the debating on whether there should be bands at games to get the crowds going and what not,
after watching a few Sky games with Wigan playing and at the game last Friday, what is the chanting noise that the fans do constantly? Its not a song, its more a chant of whooa whooa whooa, la la la la.
I actually quite like it, its different. is it part of this new Brigantes thing you've got goin? And what is this?
Genuinely interested
It's originally the Dale song sung by Boca Juniors in Argentina. Cavese http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7Inv49Ghr8 in Italy popularised it across Europe. The (awful version) a friend and I introduced to Wigan and RL is the Dale Wigan.
Does it really matter that it doesn't sound EXACTLY like some Italian football fans sing it. It sounds excellent, particularly at away games when nearly everyone is joining in. Too many RL songs are copied directly from football I think it's better that it's been changed slightly, granted more likely by accident because a lot of people have just been doing it wrong.

We are not singing it wrong, just singing all the right notes in the wrong order!

Doesnt matter, when in full flow it still sounds beltin.
When Maurice sold me to Leeds something changed, it just not the same, the passion inside me just wasn’t the same as running out at Central park for my hometown club. We need a change of culture here; we don’t want to be just happy with playing ok on Saturday at St Helens. Ill make sure that from now on things will change, that players will be under pressure and will train a lot harder than they have before. Shaun Wane 8/10/09
