Back in the eight, and our highest points total against a SL side since... ?

Defensively we were shocking at times but thankfully we built up a big enough margin to still get the win. To concede 32 points and at the same time have enough possession to score 46 at home will not please Potter.

The two points are in the bag though and that is the main thing. Big improvement needed for the next few games in June though, hopefully we will improve.

We miss Langley for his workrate in defence, however the players we had available should have been capable of putting in a much better defensive effort than they did.

Some sublime attacking in the first half, some of the best attacking rugby i have seen from the bulls in 2012.

On the back of that, there was some woeful defending. I might be a little too critical here, but i thought all the Cas tries were poor and could have been easily avoided!

IMO, Cas only had 2 players worth writing home about, Chase and their prop (no 10). A very average side who should not have scored 30+ points.

2 points needed after this weekends results. Extra defense training this week please Mr P.

Seem to have gone from brilliant defence & very little attack.. to brilliant attack, poor defence. Nice to see them score some tries though & we have 2 crucial points.

Lets hope they work on the defence this week though because against saints if we defend like tonight we'll be in trouble.

Kearney's 2 tries were nothing short of class, Bateman did really well for his and Ainscoughs 3 tries were pretty quality too :) Mind you so was Lulias.

Tbh there was only Chase's 1st try which was class for them. All others were from silly mistakes or not reading an easy play.

If you kept the Wino's out of the top 8 I'd donate more money to your cause.

Considering we lost 5 players last week, the Purtell situation, the carry on in the T and A plus the Bateman to Wire stuff I think the players deserve a lot of credit. The right hand side was a mess in defence and we desperately need Langley back to stiffen up the ruck area but we overcame a crisis in the second half and got the 2 points.

Kearney gives a cutting edge and Gale looked better but I have to say having him, Platt, Ainy all defending right of the ruck is not a good idea.

Kearney is a different class, despite some occasional suggestions that we can do without him; yesterday illustrated we can't.

Offensively Ainscough offers a good carry and energy; defensively he is absolutely horrendous.

That all said, a good win and a game 12 months ago we would have lost (and did).

Plaudits once again to Mick Potter in the face of significant adversity.

Under the circumstances I was very happy for us to get the points, with the injuries and off the field problems I was worried that we might slip up yesterday.

Kearney was quality, looks like he's hitting form again and seems to be enjoying his rugby. Gale didn't impress yet again and was out-shone by Jeffries who played well, his kicking game was once again impressive.

It was good to see Ainscough getting some tries, his weaknesses are there for all to see and the reasons he will never be a top class winger, but he really does come across as a likable character and he always gives 100%.
