I know mate. In fact I'm pretty sure we all know including Meds. Lockers has been proving him wrong for well over a decade now and it used to have some comedy value but sadly it's become tiresome. I actually like the guy. I just wish he'd drop this ridiculous stance. It does him no favours.

To be perfectly honest mate, I don’t know him or anybody else on here personally, only by their user name. Whiffy has posted some good comments and made some very valid points but sometimes I wonder if the comments are intended to be deliberately provocative. Still, it’s all part of being involved in debates on a forum I suppose.

Oh, you're definitely not wrong there!

On opinions; over on the other board there's some posters criticising Hamlin for not making enough yards. He was the 2nd highest metre maker with 118...

If he had played a full game I would have given him an 8 but he didn't so I didn't.

Well I guess that shows you recognise his quality at least. However, in the time he was on, which was on a par or better than the other middles, he did more than the any other including the ones you rated above him (Bullock and Flower). In other words you're still rating him by different criteria than the rest of the players.

In many ways, I guess that could be taken as a compliment but in all truthfulness I think you're just looking for reasons not to give him credit which, as I've said on many occasions, I don't understand. We're talking about a guy who's given his entire career to Wigan despite numerous offers from both here and the NRL. Exactly the sort of player loyalty you supposedly set so much store by. Did he sleep with your wife/motorbike or something?

I have given him plenty of credit over the last decade, It was the 4 or 5 years before that I didn't

It’s harsh to dock a forward points for not playing the full 80, most rarely do. I judge players by their contributions towards the overall performance. We know the likes of Flower, Clubb, Hamlin etc are not going to play the full 80 minutes but that doesn’t mean their effort doesn’t contribute to the performance as much as a back who is on the field for more minutes.
