How did it get started in that thread anyway, surely it should have been the England one. Tbh I click on it start reading and forget which thread it is.

Just looking, it stemmed from the signing of Akuila Uate and then Ruune rebellion posted this

T-Mak has been shortlisted for the Golden Boot. Neither Jerry, Uate or Johnstone have been. Johnstone hasnt even been named in the england team. Therefore T-Mak is the best winger in SL

and then it was off and running.

Both very good wingers btw and may sneak a bench place in Salford's current best 17 (assuming we don't go with 4 forwards this season).

TBF that post from Ruune Rebellion was fair comment from a couple of the previous posts and there’s nothing wrong with his post.

How is that post firstly anything really to do with what was being said previously to that, apart from big up his own player and secondly how is it fair response, what's it a response to exactly? Makinson's name wasn't mentioned till that point, Johnstone was mentioned directly above him and that came out of nowhere as well. It was nothing more than him fishing and boy did he catch some, well done him.

So Vastman can say they are better wingers in SL and another poster isn’t allowed to name one without it being trolling? That’s ridiculous and whilst those few posters are guilty of trolling on many other occasions this wasn’t one of them, you’ve just seen the posters name and decided it was based on that and not what was written which is a fair argument.

When Michael Carter’s name wasn’t on the best owner thread Waley fans kicked off insisting his name should be mentioned and it was trolling not including it. Now Wakefield fan says they’re much better wingers in SL and when someone mentions one it’s trolling to bring their name up? What ridiculous hypocrisy. Just blaming him for a thread derailment when it was mostly caused by Wakey fans critical of Makinson because someone dare rate a winger that isn’t one of their own.

Some people, mainly Wakey fans on Facebook and Twitter, are saying we should bring in Johnstone at the expense of Makinson for Sundays final Test match. Should we?

I just don't see how you can justify dropping someone who had such an amazing game the other day. Johnstone has a lot to do before he can leap frog Makinson in the England pecking order.

I see a few Wakey fans have been on their site saying it was a 'scandalous' decision to select Makinson in the first place and openly admitted they were sad enough to hope he had a nightmare in this series so he'd get jettisoned and Johnstone would get his place.

Well, given how well he played, that's not going to happen anytime soon now is it? And fancy wanting our own English players to play badly? That's Wakefield fans for you, I suppose.

Johnstone is a real talent and his time with England will come but not just yet.
