Who is the most astute Super League club boss? : Sat Oct 20, 2018 12:58 am
Who is the most astute Super League club boss?

I think that it is down to five men, who have shown talent both in building their club into a powerful competitive force, and in bringing new perspectives to the growth of rugby league in the northern hemisphere.

Ian Lenagan (Wigan) -- Grand Final winner 2018
Eamonn McManus (St Helens) -- League Leaders Shield 2018
Simon Moran (Warrington) -- Grand Final and Challenge Cup runners up 2018
Gary Hetherington (Leeds) -- former Grand Final and Challenge Cup winner
Bernard Guasch (Catalans) -- Challenge Cup winner 2018

My vote goes to Ian Lenagan, who is a man of supreme intelligence and culture, as well as being a very successful business man. He has brought these talents to his club and the game in general.

One of them has made a very good living out of the game by making both clubs he's been involved in strong on and off the pitch.

The others have all ploughed millions of their own money into making their clubs successful with varying degrees of success.

Lenagan has presided over falling crowds and huge losses at Wigan, one of the game's marquee clubs.

If we're following the conventional definition of "astute" there's only one winner, and it's also the person with the most trophies to his name.

The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.

Not another poll that certain posters can’t vote.

I can't vote either, and I created the poll.

Can the Mods or Administration please rectify this problem -- that many forum contributors cannot vote in polls? The submit button just does not work for us.

If Lenaghan is a man of supreme intelligence and culture, why has he replaced his superstar Tomkins with a student beating homophobe?

Out of that mob, Hetherington by a country mile, but on current form it’s Michael Carter hands down!
