He was poor in in his final season with us hence not getting a good enough deal offered, his best was his first 2 seasons. Our pack hasn't been the same since we had Griffin and Crabtree but Griffin was a poor influence on the squad and was moved on. I think Seb is as good as either of them on his day though. Woodford must have some irons in the fire if he is thinking of moving people out.

You talk bout Brough as though he's 25 and irreplaceable. Hes 35/36 and if we could replace him with a decent Aussie half, someone like Hastings then we should for me.

you are talking about replacing him with someone more expensive- I’m replying to the idea that we move on players to free up cap. I’m asking who you could get, as good, without paying big Aussie wages. I’m not saying he can’t be replaced- but we have average players on long contracts who it will be very difficult to move on- cap is therefore tied up.

If we can get a quality aussie half back, then that is cap money well spent, no matter how much it will be. No side does anything without a really good half steering them around the field. Woolford knows we need this and that is why he was after Hastings, even for this season i believe, but sadly that has not worked out. I'm sure they are looking for contingency now, but i bet woolford is already getting exasperated at just how hard it is to sign good players, even when you have the money available as a non 'big four' (Wigan, Saints, Warrington, Leeds) superleague side. Going to have to be a canny bit of business to tempt a good halfback or even promising young half from Aus to come over here.

We conceded more points with him at full back than Grix and people knocked Grix

Good finisher, but we don't have anyone to put him in gaps, and he cant tackle or create anything.
