In other words, the ref is always right even when they're wrong.The trouble is, Micky1234 (aka northernbloke), is that there isn't any consistency in many refereeing decisions. My view is that if the spectator not aware of the referee then the ref has done a good job. This is now (usually) not the case and often comes across as biased to certain sides - even to a neutral. Why the RFL appointed a rookie ref for our game v Hull KR game beggars belief. Easily influenced by a baying crowd is my bet and is the reason why we were penalised out of the game. In previous seasons he (the referee) would try to even up the penalty count. Even this gesture doesn't happen these days.
