Long shot I know, but are there any Wire fans in Singapore ? I'm there till Monday. Need some advise regarding if the Wigan match is available in a pub or somewhere as I'm .
Put on your classic 90s Wire shirt, head in to the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel, order the original Singapore Sling, and ask “eeh Barman, when you puttin’ t’Wire on telly?”...
Please video this and post it on here....
Seriously though, try a sling in the Long Bar. It’s cheaper than a beer on Clark Quay and you throw your monkey nut shells on the floor without getting shouted at by the landlady. It’s a tradition.

If not - would still be good to meet up !
Thanks
PS I forgot to say, the best thing you can do in Singapore (apart from watching the Wire) is visit the night zoo. Amazing atmosphere. Instead of high fences between you and the animals they put huge ditches in, and since it's night-time it seems you are facing the animals directly with no barrier. Add in a 2-pint glass of Tiger beer on draft and a bit of Satay and it's the perfect combination. I took the missus there instead of a posh restaurant and she didn't mind too much...

Is it true it rains more than Manchester? My missus has the opportunity to work there and move the family out. As much as I enjoy different cultures, especially the Far East, I am put off by the climate.
