Well Lefty
Has played OK in big games. Can be frustrating but not as bad as you say ... but you are a bit critical (methinks) but if you take the blinkers off he provides try scoring passes and useful kicks which probably no one else can do.
Who would you play in his place? Key question please don't dodge.
Well, Smiffy
Has played ok in big games. Well blow me down. OK? That's fantastic value for his £250K p.a. He played well ( he kicked well v Wigan in the qf), and that's about it for me. Other than that, he's just a bog standard scrum half.
He provides try scoring passes and useful kicks. WOW. THAT'S HIS JOB. Hunslett's scrum half does that. No-one else can do it, you say. Well the side might as well stop now, and pack in.
I have no blinkers on. I only see what I see on the pitch or my TV screen from him, and that's not been enough. In fact, no where near enough from a "top class" NRL recruit.
Who would I play instead of him, probably Patton, and he's not much better, BUT HE IS COMMITED to the side , something I've not seen anywhere near enough of, from Roberts (imo). Roberts will play, though. Such is life. Each year, clubs take a punt on Aussie stars, and hope they "come up with the goods". This one hasn't. Can we just hold our hands up and admit it's not worked. Pooh happens. Sometimes we buy a Boyd. Sometimes, it's a Tietzel (and Boydie recommended him).
Yes, I AM critical. I help to pay this bloke's wages.
On your opening post, you described him as our cheif organiser. Listening to the player mic on the said game v Wigan, I'd've said that was Brown.
