5th is important to us, until we cannot qualify for the semis our season is still alive, we've been told the vast majority of our missing players will be back for round 23 and the super 8s
credit should be given to those players who have kept us in touch of the top 4, to just dismiss that is an insult to those players that have played patched up and kept us up there week in week out!
Not in any way dismissing what this team have achieved in terrible injury circumstances this year, summed up by the cup defeat at Saints which was magnificent. Losing Connor & Sneyd and with Kelly strapped up though is difficult enough but also if Faraimo gets a ban we are missing 1, 2, 4, and 5 with 3 (Carlos) playing busted. Wakefield are scrapping for the 8s with home advantage so just can't see anything but a heavy defeat. This isn't being negative just realistic - it's great that we're safe and that's a praiseworthy achievement itself given the context.
The potential of this side is strong. In the backs we have Griffin who was exceptional until injury, Connor with an international breakthrough, Carlos all class and playing with a knock, Talanoa top SL try scorer until injury and Faraimo who's settling great in now but just needs to sort his discipline, MoS nominee Albert Kelly and double Lance Todd winner Marc Sneyd. We have a very good squad but just can't them on the pitch.
