I for one wouldn't but they surely have the choice to work elsewhere .
That said, it's not a massive amount owed is it.

true but its not easy changing employment like it used to be,
I seen my wage decline over the years but that was my option as I choose to move closer home and chose to take a less responsible job, when I built the brewery I took a drop of pay around £100 a week but got the advantage of using the workshop and materials that made up for it so I saw the benefits but he was getting my skills at a very cheap rate,

now if I was looking for a position employers are want me for what I earned 15 yr ago, sign of the times flood the employment with people needing jobs and the rate falls

so easy to say find another job and I hear that from people who have good well paid jobs

So if you do the maths - it's 27 workers owed 458.16 say about 48 hours, would we assume one week, several weeks of roughly 1 hr/week - ?
Is/was it a claim unpaid or A report to authority/collecting data & maybe therefore un-substantiated ?
Why post something you don't know the details of as detailed above ! Which is all hear-say.

But the OP did know the detail? Everyone knows the detail, they are in the public for all to see are they not? However they arrived at not paying the national minimum wage - If it was an admin error or whatever they still have a responsibility to pay the national minimum wage to employees and they have not which is why they are on the "Name and shame" list.

Yes, I agree. I think it was a bit simplistic of me to say what I said. I feel sorry for the workers of today because in my opinion what some employers (and I don't mean WT who, as I said previously, seemingly don't owe a lot anyway) get away with nowadays make the Dickensian workers look wealthy.

lets rethink this, how would you feel if it was YOU receiving less than the minimal wage, don't think I'd be happy would you

Not at all.
But paying less than minimum wage makes it sound like slave labour or that we knowingly did it.
As long as now the decision has been made we pay up, I'd be ok with that.

you can also look at the way unemployment works and how you have to get back to work, the system has been tightened up dramatically and rightly so for the scroungers and is far more difficult just to sign on and when your on the hound up something stupid to get you in work which results you in having to take low paid jobs on most occasions,
since Dec I haven't worked full time as I been installing the brewery I sold and can't claim anything until the business is finalised which is next month, since then I been living off my bank balance but been offer jobs that money wise doesn't reflect my skill level, imagine not having a skill must,
I see it with my lad and how he's paid, I have another lad how has a skill and still being under paid for his skills yet the company made £8 million
I will return to work but not in the capacity of my skills due to illness but at least I don't have the worry of a mortgage, then I will be looking at the lower end of the pay scale which will be difficult to stomach

but yet we do have slave labour within the country, fashion nail bars tend to be the trend
there are two type of employment fixed hours where your timed how long you are working for or completion of a task expected to complete within the working week or day this still will be on hours but could take longer on certain days, also some jobs you have stand down time where your not working as such just waiting as you may of prepared like opening time at a bar, even then you could be stood hours before and action.

I can’t get my head round the fact that some posters are claiming that the detailed facts and source of where the facts have come from are rubbish?

We’ve underpaid, simple as that. Exactly as Poptart has said, providing we settle up - I have no problem with it.

Well just to be clear.....if we settle up I'm ok with Wakefield Trinty's involvement. I don't know MC personally but he doesn't seem the type to cheat people.
If they are knowingly trying to get around paying then I'm dead against that.

We fell foul in one area. That we didn’t pay travelling time to games for academy players. And those amounts owed go back 3 years. So yes, we fell foul of rules we were unaware of. Yes, we have paid everyone in full as agreed with HMRC. And yes we have been fined heavily. There was 1 particular person at fault, but as the employer, the buck stops with me.
