Dewsbury game. : Sun May 20, 2018 10:18 am
Is anyone going? Any thoughts? It's a lovely day to get down't Shay and support the lads. What's needed today is a solid win (we're not going to get owt on points difference) no injuries and keep the momentum going. Up The Fax!

First half shocker from forwards came back really well only for Ben Johnson to play the dumbest pass ever. Dewsbury deserved what they got.Blown a golden chance . I saw no game plan or composure today . Overall poor performance. Qlt worth the admission but some need a kick up the backside ie Fleming . Overweight and not interested.

This game feels like a loss. Dewsbury wee not very good. Average and we were well under par. Sykes s a 1st class knob. This should have been a win for us, losing this is going to make a top 4 place very difficult. Still got a game in hand. Next Saturday is going to be along day at the office if we play like that. QLT is class his well worked solo try was first class. Ben Kay needs to be dropped. Adds nothing in my opinion.

Our points difference is so bad, a draw is as good as a win. A bad day at the office but these things happen. Leigh lost at Barrow, Toronto drew at Barrow, nearly blew it at Rochdale. Man City drew at home to Hudds Town. Get behind the lads and stop moaning. Fev next up, BRING IT ON!

Other than making more tackles than anyone else and being the top try scoring forward.

Good job we've all got different opinions.

Get behind the lads.

I agree he is a good defender but he plays in a possison that requires fast dynamic passing and he just doesn’t have it. His passing is always laboured and slow. He pulls his arms back before passing giving the opposition time to move up. I’m not anti Kay just trying to be realistic.

I've said that before as well. Brandon has a quicker delivery, but we just seem to be missing something across the whole team.

QLT is in a different class to the rest of the team, which is a bit worrying given he was considered surplus to requirements by TW.

We came out looking like we'd won the game already, made a whole load of comedy mistakes in the first half, and weren't quite good enough to claw it back in the second.

I hear that Adam may be playing in Blackpool, but we could do with the Cas connection giving us something in the same vein as QLT in other positions. Otherwise, top 4 has gone, as the other 5 teams are all too good for us.

It feels to me over the past couple of years every time Fax have a week off they come back and make a right balliacks of the next time out. it is as though they have forgotten everything.
They only play well when constant pressure and backs to the wall rugby is called for.

Dewsbury had a 'clear the air meeting' between coach and players this week and their new found spirit and teamwork surprised Fax in the first half. These things happen but I still cannot help but think that too many Fax players were coasting and need a good kick up the backside! It may be against Marshall's principles, but it is time he did so. He has shown loyalty with some players which has not been repaid.

Re: Dewsbury game. : Mon May 21, 2018 6:52 am
Playing devils advocate here but that could be just what we needed going in to next weeks game. Although a draw is a poor result against a very poor team it will have no bearing on where we finish at the end of the season because of our points difference so if anything it stops us having to worry about going in to games having to rack up points, now we simply need to win. So a draw going in to next week could give us the kick up the backside that we may need.

I still can't work out how we manage to make so many basic errors though, it has to be a problem in the game at junior level when semi pro players can not get the basics right and a coach at this level really should not have to worry about having to coach players how to pass and catch. I said at the start of the season we need a hooker who can deliver the ball and still stand by that, too many times out attack is stifled by poor ball from dummy half from both our hookers. Our pack at times looks to lack a little bit of punch and Tangata could improve it in that respect but lets hope rumours about him not having a visa are not true as word is that he has been fit to play for a couple of weeks now and not giving him a run out yesterday makes no sense at all.

Obviously money will be a massive problem next season if we miss the top 4 and a loss next week would make it easier to plan for next year as top 4 would be unlikely but we really need to get QLT signed up for next season as he is head and shoulders above the rest of our players. If it means sacrificing a few big earners then so be it as theres a few of them that seem to be coasting at the minute anyway.

Looking at Fev after the first time we played I said that Ridyard was the difference between the teams and it sounds like he could be missing which would be a big boost for us as he is a class act so as long as we don't lose the game in the first 10 minutes then we should at least be able to compete with them.
