As for that laithwaite I can fully understand why he has been shipped out... maybe needs a few weeks exercise on trying to bend his back... from that drop out all he had to do was fall on the ball... I would have had him straight off.. If we hadn't got any better than him.. then Chalmers needs to open the bank book

That was Kirk wasn't it? Laithwaite was great at Doncaster and has been v solid since.

How does promotion work in this division? Need to sort out the attitude if it is some kind of play-off. WE defended really well, having to defend several sets on the bounce but all those dropped balls could cost us dearly against teams that are also fighting for promotion.

Top spot automatically promoted. 2-5 in play-offs.

Assuming they don't move the goalposts half way through the season like they did last year.

It was laithwaite who couldn't be bothered to bend down or even fall on the floor for it.. I'm not saying we are that bad... What I'm saying is we are not that good

Doncaster had their slip up this weekend losing to Hunslet at home. Just us and York on 18 points now and then a 4 point gap.

York beat Hemel 90-0 putting them back on top however we play Hemel this weekend with only 30 ish points to make up. Tricky assignment for York; away at Whitehaven. Whitehaven would potentially be joint third as they are a game behind everyone else.

First place were originally supposed to be involved in the playoffs. But that nearly meant Toulouse missed out on the playoffs the year before when they slipped up in the first playoff game. Guessing RFL didn't want that happening to Toronto because while Toronto were top of the league, they changed the rules and made the top spot automatic promotion instead.

I was surprised by how good Newcastle looked on Friday night. They ought to be higher up the table if they can play like that. The 4G surface really suited Ritson and Young who looked a threat whenever they go the ball. Great setup at Kingston Park, lots of juniors playing RL around there too. A club on the up for sure.

I thought it was a potential banana skin pretty well negotiated. Glad to see the defence mostly sorted, and Newcastle deserve a lot of credit, they were way better than I had been expecting. Peltier and Chissy our best.
