A Canadian gets the nod from "Bellyache." : Fri Apr 13, 2018 4:24 pm
A Canada eligible player named Ryley Jacks has been selected as half back for the Melbourne Storm this week. He qualifies because his father is Canadian born.Jacks played very well in a Melbourne victory over Newcastle, setting up a try. He is likely to be retained in the half back role. Coach Craig Bellamy (aka "Bellyache") would have been impressed.
This is great news for the Canadian team as we prepare for the qualifier playoffs for the 2021 World Cup. Having an NRL experienced half back will do wonders for the Canadian team. His brother can play five eighth. Now what we need to find is a full complement of talented forwards and outside backs. If Toronto Wolfpack can make it to Super League then that development of Canadian talent will become more likely.
