Parking at the Halliwell Jones : Thu Feb 22, 2018 12:21 pm
I usually get the train to Warrington so tomorrow will be my first time driving. Where do you all usually park?

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Most idiotic post ever goes to Grimmy..... The way to restart should be an arm wrestle between a designated player from each side.

Plenty side streets near the ground. I've been ticketed on that Tesco on match day, so don't be tempted to park there

Need to be careful with the side streets, most of them are restricted parking on match days, there are signs in the streets that say this, also the Gestapo go around in force banging tickets out if you are not a resident with a parking permit.

There's plenty of places on the streets but you need to know where you're going. Big surface car park 50 yards from ground, entrance off Tanners lane, but they bump the price up to about £4 on match days.

I would park on the main multi-storey car park in town, Golden Square, directly under Debenhams. £1 in the evenings, dead secure, plenty of other parkers there too. Entrance on Legh Street.

Going home, head for the M6 at junction 21 on the A57, Irlam to avoid the heavy traffic on Winwick Road.

Perfect, thanks very much for the advice!

Depending on how early you get in to Warrington, there is a free car park on Orford Lane opposite the Hawthorne pub. It's only small (30-40 spaces) but mega close to the stadium. If you're gonna be getting in after half 6 though I wouldn't bother, go with one the Golden Square one or the one next to the Kings Head on Tanners Lane

Haven't been for a few years but last time we went we parked by the college just off Winwick Road. It's a bit of a walk but you avoid traffic both sides of the game.
