Toulouse for Championship in 2017, Super League in 2021!

Avignon for Championship in 2021, Super League in 2022!

I am unable to vote, despite the fact that I am over 18. As other posters have made clear, the deprivation of voting rights is widespread at the moment among forum members.

But I am compelled to state that I believe that Toronto and Toulouse must be promoted.

For the good of the game the RFL must act further than just promoting these two superb non-English clubs mentioned above. In particular Widnes must be relegated and London promoted in its place.

Are in danger of not having the fans or finances to be in SL but the two extra spaces may save them because talk of a New York franchise and in the future Hamilton and if you heard the BBC Radio Manchester show talking to the Manchester Rangers board who said they have long term plans for SL and have numerous good backers... plus London... a resurgent new Bradford... are five that could easily replace those five.

But do we have a talent pool of 350 players good enough to fill a 14 team league (25 man squads)?

Not while many of those team are not running an academy or reserves and instead feed off other clubs that do.

Expansion is all very well but it must also contribute to the player pool. Every new club needs to be given targets for producing their own players from their own systems and working in partnership with their community clubs - if they don't they should be penalised. Spending all the income on the 1st team is not the way to grow the game.

JESUS WEPT :WALL: HOW MANY TIMES?????
£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT:

I suspect that this is very much part of the Toronto business Plan for the foreseeable future.....Keighley Cougars have recently entered into an agreement with the Canadian RL.....surely a better scenario would be that the only professional side in Canada should partner with them.....but that probably wouldn't get the "HEADLINES" that seem to placate many RL fans into believing that Toronto is the answer to our problems.
