At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.

I think you (and the intellectuals at London) mean "alternative". Alternate means to keep doing or using one thing and then another (unless London do plan to wear one shirt and then the other every other game, regardless of being at home or not?). Alternative means to be available as another possibility or choice.

It means two different things depending on whether you emphasise the "ter" or the "ate".
Ok, Ok, so I was just having a poke back. My understanding of the "other" meaning of the word (with the emphasis on "ter") was that this was a US pronunciation and use of the word. Hence if New York enter our league, then it would be correct.

It is WCC wins. Surprised other clubs don’t do the same. I think national football teams started it off with stars for World Cup wins.
World Cup in football is the pinnacle or Champions League in club football. Winning a WCC is a nice bonus that usually gets downplayed with excuses when an English team wins. It's down the pecking order compared to GF or CC wins.
