Re: McGillvery : Tue Nov 14, 2017 9:19 am
I’d bet my house that this is total BS and pure conjecture on the part of some bored journalist, if you can call them that.

McGillvary is contracted to Hudds for a while and despite us being able to pay any enormous transfer fee the wages he’d command would be better spent on key positions. Another creative marquee player is what we need. No point having an expensive and highly-paid winger who never gets the ball.

McGillvary is the total package as a winger though, and I do wish we had someone even close to his quality.

So we now have McGillvery and Charnley touted as our new winger, which one would be the best fit?

Right now and for 2018 I'd take McGillvery he's obviously in great form and one of the best wingers in the world and would guarantee us lots of tries. He'd hit the ground running whereas Charnely would need some settling back in and adjustment.

Long term, I'd take Charnley primarily because of him being younger and yet to come into his prime.

The fact we seem to be actively looking for a winger is encouraging though, it's a position we desperately need to fill.

Just can't see this one happening. He's got three years left on his current deal and a testimonial planned for 2020.

Probably means we'd have to give himm a 4 year deal at least.

At 29 4 years would be to much for me.

loada rubbish, for some reason huddersfield players seem to have a weird loyalty to that club, hence eorl crabtree retired with nothing but a challenge cup losers medal and a broken nose.

you need to get a marker out from the market and change marker to market.
