After watching the unseen 1990 footage it lead me to ask the question..
What has been Warrington's biggest ever gaff?

My candidate for one of the club's biggest mistake was in 1990.
Greg Mackey I think came over paying his own was way and asked Wire for a trial. We was awesome for that first couple of months, winning the Lancashire Cup and top of the league.
I don't know what got into Peter Higham and the rest of the boards heads, but we never tied Greg down to a contract.!?

Eventually Greg was offered a contract, by Hull and he was gone...and so was the wins...what followed was loss after loss.
We eventually got some cup form together and the odd league win. It was never quite the same though.

We've dropped some clangers over the years, what would be your candidate for Warrington's all time biggest blunder?

That was my immediate reaction! And yet according to our old friend google he has gone onto gain handsome employment in both codes. He either has an agent who could make the United Nations persuasive skills redundant or one hell of an interview

However, I'm going for whoever sanctioned the manufacture of those dreadful USA baseball jackets in the early days of our transition to wolfy-ness. They were a crime against fashion in the same vein as courdroy trousers, turtle neck jumpers and those jeans that hang round your knees and show the world you need to change your underwear more frequently.

Appaling. And yes, I did own one.
