Jake Mamo : Wed Apr 19, 2017 12:49 pm
How do you guys think he has gone in the last few games since his introduction to the side? This was one of the signings I was looking forward to seeing this year, and from the highlights looks to have really good pace, and some strength.

Is full back his best position?

two man of the match performaces in his first two games.

awarded by the local paper anyway!

not bad for a player who only started running again recently

thumbs up from me, exciting player to watch with tons of enthusiasm , refreshing change

Hopefully will turn out well when he gets fit. he shows an appetite for the game at least, reminds me of how a few of our players used to look back in the N Brown days

He can come up with a play/support that can get us some points on the board. Good attacking full back. Certainly vocal which is something we need! Also the speed on the lad! Very pacey. Just needs minutes to get his fitness up for a full 80 mins. Overall very impressed great signing by stoney!

Re: Jake Mamo : Wed Apr 19, 2017 8:39 pm
Was excited from the first time rumours abounded that we would sign him. Real shame about the injury but from his first two outings have been very impressed. Will be a fans fave no problem and really looking forward to seeing him improve as his fitness rises and he gets used to his team mates more.
Real glad that Darnall has still got a place in the team but looks like we have at last got a real talent at the back with some genuine pace and ability to back up breaks.
Reminds me a bit of Dean Hanger for those that remember.

He is going to be a lad who evens up his errors with great attacking play. He can't do it alone though and needs players backing him up.
Hopefully promising signs ahead.

On another note,
I must admit I was harsh about Wakeman at times too. Though I still think he would of been better missing the first 3-4 games to catch up on training and get used to his new routine, He looks to be improving drastically too.

Things hopefully looking up.

As you can maybe tell from my username i remember Deano well! Can't say as Mamo is similar to 'hoppy' as Deano's mainstay was his trademark limp up to dummy half and then the scoot that usually led to a length of the field try. Hanger was possinly the one of the very first players to scoot in the way that we see many modern players doing, watching for the opportunity to take on tiring or out of position markers.

Loved watching Deano. The master of limp to sprint. Scored and and made plenty of special tries.

Bet he wouldn't be half as effective now though- those big guys in the middle aren't as big and slow as they were!
