First accept sadness. Realise that without losing 70% of the time, winning wouldn't be such a relief.

Exciting times for us fans, and whether you agree with the methods or not it sends messages to everyone. 'We're not messing about here' seems to be the consensus from the guys at the top and expect the playing staff to do the same. I reckon the team next year will barely resemble the one at the start this year.

Butcher , the ' New Broom ' they have brought with them is Big.

Ed Farish's favourite Quote at the Forever Reds Meeting Last Night was ' That is currently being reviewed'
From the Marketing strategy , Hospitality- Commercial staff , Match days , Academy & Backroom staff.

His comment on one staff member was ' I've never met a guy more universally disliked ' of course I couldn't grasp who he was pertaining to ..

the honeymoon period ' if there ever was one ' is truely over , the thanks for sticking with us arm 'round the shoulder ' talk is done. We're going to get better , keep up or face the consequences was my take.

He openly discussed the signing of Jamie Soward for 2014 , also Luke O'Dwyer but mentioned O'Dwyer had a young family & a wife in a good job so was was playing this down .
Their immediate targets were a Quality Fullback, A Centre ,a Back Rower & Two Props .
Mentioned they were still tracking Glen Fisiiahi , he's under long term contract at Warriors but playing reserve grade, and he'll only 'bear that for so long'.
Said they were planning to discuss Broughtons contract soon , but said that a number of contracts expiring this season and at this stage they were unlikely to be renewed, impression I got was he is tasked with freeing up as much salary cap for 2014 top provide Salford with a war fund to go out a recruit both in the UK , overseas , he also mentioned RU wasn't out of the question.
Mentioned they are close to agreeing a deal with John Cartwrights Titans for a 4 week December preseason at Goldcoast and the possibility of player exchanges .
Also sitting down with Oldham to agree Dual Reg deals with them with a top priority to help them out of CC1 this season so next seasons Dual Reg allocation would be playing against the better grade sides .

MM. Can't help but be enthused about everything, although if I was a slacker working behind the scenes my hoop would be puckering a little.

It seems like they intend to wipe clean as much of the detritus as possible, without being sentimental, and hammer it their way as soon as possible. I just can't believe I'm reading and typing about this stuff after the miserable end of last year. The Club will be unrecognizable in a short period of time. We just need the fans and potential fans to start coming back and do their part.

It is amazing to read positive news articles coming out of the club rather than the fear of the future we seemed to have had all last season.

Think Lowe comes across as a real no nonsense type who will not suffer fools gladly, the one issue I would have is that the head coach should have been reading the riot act to the players and not letting it be done by the CEO. Does make me wonder how long the top table at the club would put up with substandard results from a head coaches point of view?.

Some of the points I've read from Farish after the meeting last night also leave me in little doubt that things are going to be done right and with a ruthless efficiency that has been missing at the club for some time. You can tell by the fact that we want to help Oldham try and get promotion to allow to dual reg players a better standard of opposition that there has already been a great deal of thought gone into what is needed in the short term future.

Does anyone else know if it's been done before when two such high profile members of staff are mainly based abroad and only spend so much time at a club? the idea of Lowe and Chalmers spending the main part of their time in Australia/NZ does strike me as being odd but no doubt the Doc has got them working hard when away on just what he wants from the future.

not wanting to heap any pressure on Phil Veivers , but with the sort of names & money mentioned . and with the likes of Brian Smith , Brian McClennan out there without a club , how long before the pressure to put a named Coach in charge that will attract named players become the inevitable?
If we aim to afford a Jamie Soward for 2014 , then why not a Tim Sheens ?

I bet secretly Veivers felt more secure last year when the odd good result was thanked where with the new regime the bad ones will come under much greater scrutiny. Wonder how long before there are rumors of Cartwright coming.

Vastly unfair the criticism of Phil Veivers,in my view.I don't think there is a record, either here or abroad, where players follow coaches. Not many/any from Leeds, with Smith,to Warrington.Or from Harlequins, with Mac,to Leeds or from Hudds, with Brown to Saints etc.
Phil Veivers has worked against all the odds from day one with players he did not sign and with a huge number of factors against him which all,or nearly all, other coaches have not had to contend with.

The Australian financial situation will probably prevent Australians moving here and I would have thought with the relationship Phil Veivers has with Wayne Bennett would be more of an attraction.

As Phil Veivers spoke with Dr Koukash before the deal to take over was complete,I am sure he would understand that a rigorous root and branch review would be taking place.
