I reckon it would be Gerrard or possibly Lampard.
Is that the same Rio Ferdinand who is presently serving a 4 match ban for trying to smack someone? Is that the same Rio Ferdinand who demands that the FA punish racists harder than they do, but won't name a racist player who he claims witnessed making racist comments? Is that the same Rio Ferdinand who can't remember to appear for drugs test? Is that the same Rio Ferdinand who, because of that missed drugs test, is judged to be a drugs cheat? Is that the same Rio Ferdinand who said, 'You're a faggot' to an interviewer live on national radio? Is that the same Rio Ferdinand who was involved in a seedy sex tape scandal with two other players while on holiday?

Not sure what these rumours are about Terry, continue the chain mail and send them to me
How many games ago was it that Rooney made the blatant attempt to kick someone, but was ridiculously given a penalty instead by the moronic ref?
Do you not remember Rooney getting himself sent off for stamping on Carvalho?
Do you not remember the visits to the massage parlour to see the granny hooker?
Rooney clearly has the press on his side right now. The press love him and if he farts they are clambering to sniff it and describe how wonderful it smells. But they aren't going to be so forgiving the next time he gets himself sent off because he can't control his feet. Has he become a reformed character since his massage parlour days, or is he just lucky that he hasn't been caught yet?
All of the captaincy candidates have serious baggage.

Surely Wayne Bridge should get a similar reaction to Terry. After all, Bridge was shagging the ex gf of Gudjohnsen and Adrian Mutu. Gudjohnsen was still a team mate when Bridge went after her. At least JT had the good grace to let Bridge leave the club before he went after her.

Terry should remain as captain. Only alternative is Rooney and he doesn't need the added pressure, especially with the way he is playing at the moment. His time as England captain will come.

I'm not ranting and raving. I'm just listing the indiscretions of the possible captaincy candidates.
Quote:I wouldn't want Rooney as the captain - I hate him, it's just a feeling I have with him being the golden boy of English football.
I agree about him being the golden boy. But the problem with that is that he isn't always going to be the golden boy who the press love. He's always on the brink of getting himself a red card and one red card in the WC will be enough for him to be public enemy number 1. The press would love to build him up as high as possible before bringing him back down with a bang.

He'd be a great choice. Top bloke. And now he's an injury case, he won't be able to kick any more female stewards after a defeat.
And he's also got a wealth of experience of captaincy, what with the way he's been able to watch Gary Neville perform as captain for so long, he's bound to have picked up loads of knowledge from watching him.

You seem to be forgetting that Rooney's glass metatarsal will be smashed before the WC starts.

There'll probably be a bit of mischief from our fans tomorrow towards Bridge. It's to be expected, and let's face it, if it upstes him, he'll go home to his large house and console himslf with a huge pile of cash. Why should fans be respectful of the emotions of legalized highwaymen?

John Terry was Hull's opponent in mid-week. Hull fans had fun booing him. But I think even they'd admit they didn't effect Terry's performance at all.
Wayne Bridge is Hull's opponent at the weekend. While Hull fans won't hold the animosity towards Bridge that they do against Terry, he's still an opponent. They will probably have far more success winding Bridge up than they had with Terry.
