Wizards cast FREE match offer

Warrington Wizards are offering all Super League, Championship and Championship 1 season ticket holders FREE admission to their Conference Three match against Coventry Bears.

The Wizards will host the Bears at Wilderspool Stadium this coming Saturday (7th July), kick off is 2.30pm. Supporters from all 34 professional and semi professional clubs in the country’s top three leagues will be given free admission if they show their season ticket or pass at the turnstiles.

With no matches scheduled in Super League or the Championships that day, Wizards’ club administrator Dave Whalley said rugby league fans from any background should get down to Wilderspool to see the Wizards hopefully overcome a strong Coventry Bears side.

He said: “We are a very exciting team to watch when we are attacking and we score plenty of eye-catching tries, but we are equally as effective when we are defending and teams have found it difficult to breach us.

“I am certain that if you are able to come and sample the product that we have on offer at Wilderspool Stadium this Saturday afternoon you will not leave disappointed.”

Saturday’s game will see the two clubs replay the 2004 National League Three Grand Final.

The Wizards, playing under their original name of Warrington Woolston Rovers who won the Grand Final 12 months earlier, faced the Coventry Bears in the first of a Grand Final triple header at the Halton Stadium in Widnes. The Bears went onto win 48-24.

Warrington Woolston Rovers changed their name and identity ahead of the 2005 season, and after the National League Three was renamed the Rugby League Conference National in 2007, the Wizards won the league for the second time in 2010.

In all that time the Warrington Wizards have remained a family orientated club, and welcome people who support the club with open arms.

Dave said: “We are a very friendly and well run club that takes pride in the way that we go about our business. Please give us the opportunity of showcasing our talents to you this weekend and I am sure that you will be suitably impressed and will come back and visit us again in the very near future.”

The Wizards currently sit in third place in the league table behind Hemel Stags and Huddersfield Underbank Rangers and have won 8 out of 10 games so far this season.

Admission for non-season ticket holders is £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.

The bar will be open before, during and after the game
