Qualifiers Game 2 - Widnes Away : Tue Aug 11, 2015 2:23 pm  

We travel to the Select Security Stadium on Sunday to face the top seeded team in the Qualifiers, Widnes Vikings. They only beat Halifax by 14 at The Shay in round 1 but they're a different proposition on home turf, 'the plastic' as most know it. Will have the preview up in the next few days, all news articles leading up to the game can be put in here as well as the referee appointment from the RFL.

Prediction - Widnes by 22

Could I ask you to terrify me please,by finding the home record 'on the plastic' for Widnes?

Our right side defence must improve as they will need to prevent their latest recruit Runciman and battering ram man Ah Van.

I thought we lost key battles in every facet of the game on Sunday. I'm a bit worried about the half back battle and the kicking game of Kevin Brown and the pace of Mellor - even though Widnes fans are doubting him - HERE Meanwhile, Betts will have the luxury to be picking from strength for this Sunday’s game against Sheffield Eagles in The Qualifiers. Both winger Paddy Flynn and prop forward Eamon O’Carroll, who missed out on selection for last weekend’s 14-0 at Halifax, are likely to get a run out on Sunday. Perhaps they don't believe in the Under 19's being ready for Super League Qualifier games. Mr Betts does seem to have moulded a good blend of youth and experience. Listened to it on Radio Merseyside - not as much of a walk over as the score suggests watched the Leigh match at the same time looked to be more onesided than the score suggests. So four Championship sides well beaten - need to be much better as well as fulltime!!
