I dread to think how much money i'd have spent on a weekend in Blackpool.

We were awful in the second half.

so so many sheffield fans blaming the ref last night. As a neutral(ish) speccie, Fax were woeful in the 1st half. Poor line speed, half @r_sed attack and Sheffield took advantage. Had the big fella been award the try towards the end of the half it (might) have been a different story but the 2nd half was a complete contrast.
Barlow ran in hard and inspired other fax forrads to do the same. Sheffield lost the forward battle in the second half and that brought penky into the game. When that happens the result is usually a forgone conslusion and so it transpired. Sheffield's discipline went and the half backs that operated so well in the first half had nowhere to go in the 2nd. Ronnie didn't turf up the ball for Rettie to score> Ronnie didn't repeatedly drop the ball early in the count on the odd occassion Sheffield did get some field position!
Sheffields second half performance was the reason you lost, not Ronny.

The defensive deficiencies that have been apparent all season (look at our points against figure in the Championship - only the bottom 4 have worse records) were exposed once again by a decent team. We aren't going anywhere with that track record. Having said that it must have been difficult last night with I assume a fairly wet pitch and a slippery ball, so thanks to everyone for putting on what in the conditions was a pretty good game and let's be honest an awesome display by the Fax forwards, especially in the 2nd half.

Are we talking about the one where he slid over ? That was called a knock on, though the IGJ gave it as a try. If we're not going to take any notice of these blokes, why have them ?

They offloaded so many times in the first ten minutes of the second half. Ran us ragged in that period. People talk about lack of discipline but I don't give much credence to big penalty count differences either way. Things are rarely so black and white. And the two kickable penalties ? Both for things that had been happening all over the field throughout the game. Rugby League needs to take a good look at some of its rules. If referees penalised every infringement, it'd all be penalties. And do we need some of these ptb rules ? Probably not now the ptb isn't a contest.

Sure you can pick up on a fair few points where we could have won but we were 18-0 up - should have won from there.

Exactly Griff,Might aswell have a cardboard cutout behind the goals and save on wages,Complete waste of time,Never make decisions and if they do which happened last night they got overuled,As you say what's the point,didn't think ronnie was that bad TBH,We were better 1st half,They were better 2nd half,Fax probably deserve to just nick it,There's a penalty in nearly every 6 tackles,It's just random blowing off the whistle for the ones he wants to give,Offsides nearly every play the ball,The crucial bit is were abouts on the pitch he blows for the penalties,As you say he could blow the whistle for penalties all the time,As you say would have been nice to get to the final,Blackpool is a dump though so not hugely disapointed,at least we have improved on last years rail run which is good,We should be targeting this comp every year as we are a genuine contender to win it.
