If a case has new evidence then of course it should be appealed.
If that evidence is then deemed not relevant or of no importance to the original decision then it is then up to the panel to decide whether the appeal was brought in good faith or in mischief. The former, ban stays the same, the latter increase the ban.
There has to be an appeal process, otherwise everything will just end up at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, or at least the clubs that can afford to take that route will do that. Then we'll have an even more slewed system.
None of that has any baring on Acton's extended ban, which is clearly just funny as it's got all the hilarious gormclops Leythers chocking on their lobby.

Yes there should be a right of appeal but if that appeal fails then there should be a consequence. There has to be some jeopardy to stop people appealing for the sake of it like acton
LOL - I didn't really mean about your performance (today or in the future). We went to POR last week and beat them convincingly. On current form, I just thought that Fev being the toughest team "by far" at home perhaps wasn't perhaps quite correct?
