I never went yesterday so I can't really comment but after tuesday night seeing at least 5 of our players laid out on there back at the final hooter it was plain to see they are struggling with this tough period and true if we had finished higher up last season this wouldn't be happening but better management from the RFL would of seen this been handled better, I'm not saying with 2 weeks off we would of come to your place and beat you because you have a very good team and nearly all our SL games have gone the way of the home team, but reading your fans comments about lunt and Kelly who have both been a revelation this season for us (when fit) I just feel there maybe was a reason as to why they was so quiet
The game went as expected in my opinion. We are a professional outfit and a week off would only put us off very early doors. I was very nervous because I haven't seen a team have so much fight during a season. I'm sure if we had the short turn around and lost.. Most of our lot would be using that as an excuse for losing too. It's a valid reason. This is the reason I'm glad the Giants left the cup early. I don't like the challenge cup.
I hope you get the top 8 season. You surely have the team capable of reaching the 8 and doing well in it.
Wouldn't say Kelly was quiet - he was busy without being too industrious, he didn't seem to have anyone to help take the weight off his shoulders hence why his efforts went wayward. As for Lunt, our fans have been saying for 2 years now he isn't half the player he used to be, to the point where as a huge fan of his in his prime i didn't even notice him yesterday !!
You're guys were tired, and in the end i think that helped us aswe had more left in the tank. We also played pretty well too so not all the blame for the defeat can go to tiredness - Brough killed you yesterday and i doubt any team, however fresh would have coped with him in that form. I like the games between us though, hardly seems to be a boring one !

I think it's safe to say that even with fully rested bodies, most teams would struggle against you and would likely have taken a beating today.
Whilst you are rightly giving Brough the plaudits, his efforts were built on the back of a very dominant pack. When a packs steamrollers another in the manner that yours did today, you will often find your own playmakers qualities are brought to the fore. Just as the opposite is likely true of the playmakers in a beaten pack.
Kelly was your best player, but by his standards he was quiet whether that's because he was tired or just because we were too good to let him take control? i agree that it isn't ideal playing 3 games in a week, but that's how it is, all clubs know this, same with easter 2 games in 4 days, that's why clubs have squads so they can rotate etc if your coach has chosen to play the same players in every game then it's his fault they are tired not the RFL's.

Up until recently we haven't had that luxury with having 9 of our 1st team missing but we have them back now and ideally we would of had 1 game a week to build there fitness instead of rotating, for the record a mate of mine went and said brought ruined us with his kicking game and we didn't have a answer for him
just watched highlights of both the hull matches, brough did have a great game and in that form is the best in the league, big game for you at Salford,50/50 for me
Brough is on a different level to any other half backs at the moment, but also Wood, Simpson,Ellis also hammered you with their running game in addition to Brough's kicking.
course you had a chance, it was 17 v 17 ultimately, one set of players were more fatigued than the other, which no doubt contributed.. on the other hand you can't buy match practise, one team had 2 games in the same period the other team had 0, so who knows how it affected the teams?
what i will say though is that the number of games rovers have had to play recently is purely down to Hull KR themselves, had they finished higher up the league last year then they wouldn't have needed the extra game this week due to playing in an earlier round of the cup. likewise, had they not won at wigan earlier this year they too would have had a weekend off last week.
no fishing for bites on my part, just commented on the game and certain players' performances.
I think it just shows what a competitive league it is,only a couple of months back we beat you comfortably at home, and also how injuries to key players make a massive difference, take brough out of your side and you are very average.I think a few of you are suffering from short memory syndrome.
I feel justin morgan's biggest mistake was not signing danny brough when he was available and wanted to sign for us,but justin felt he was more trouble than he was worth.Well i'm sorry justin, big mistake.
