According to Sheffield Eagles official website and twitter feed, such are the Club's financial problems that they face the real possibility of ceasing to exist. The statement adds that the Club will shortly be unable to meet its financial obligations.

The game is in a mess, I'm sure they'll come through it, but how many more clubs are on the brink I wonder.

yeah very sad situation.i know there is no love lost between us and eagles,but i do hope they can pull through.im keeping my fingers crossed for them

Very sad news. Having no proper stadium to play in but going full-time seemed like a strange route to take. I hope they pull through. We need rugby to thrive across South Yorkshire. The game will be much poorer should Sheffield not survive.

I think in hindsight was a very bad decision to go full time , with no ground , fewer fans than us !

Good luck for the future though .
