So basically any DR who played yesterday could have played for them whenever but not their parent club for the remainder of the season. (as I read it)

The way I read it is that any player could play on DR up to the 24th July (the first game of the Super8s). In order to play after 24th July, they must have played on DR at least 8 times during the season to 24th July. In the Dons case I presume the deadline will be extended as our first game in the Super8s will be next weekend. This will allow Feka to still qualify.

Once a player plays for the DR team in the Super8s after the 24th July (ie game two of the Super8s onwards), that player is no longer eligible to play for his parent club in a first team game for the remainder of the season.

Isn't it just the case that to qualify to play any more games for the lender club 8 games must be under the belt.
If not NO DR player can play for the lender club.
So Penny and Co that don't qualify CAN'T play.

Right the rule is ....
Play 3 games to have a choice ... one club ot the other and carry on playing.
Play 8 and flit between the two clubs and carry on.

Some of the text I copied from the RFL rules hadn't pasted as it should have done. Sorry about that. The above is now accurate.

As S/O says, the 8 match rule suggests a player can flit from DR to playing for their parent club. It does look as though anyone from the parent club CAN still play on DR without any qualifying game requirements (after Round 1 of the Super8s) but doing so means they can't play for their parent club again.

In effect, it means there is no Transfer Deadline for DR. Just the consequence that the player cannot play for their parent club again. I'm not sure I like the sound of that.

Does everyone else interpret the rules this way?
