A very big well done to all the players and staff and anyone who travelled for yesterday, like one or two others on here l was not confident of a win but the lads came good. we are hanging on to a top 5 place albeit were depending on a couple of results going our way today. Lets keep supporting the lads and fingers crossed a top 4 place could be realistic. COYDs

The play-off system for the last seven games isn't clear to me but I did hear this version from someone that for example, Toulouse finish top then they would play their home games against the 2, 3, 5, 6 placed teams and 4, 7 and 8 placed teams away. This means Donny would play them at home if Donny made fourth spot. Good news for the rest maybe is that Rochdale & York would travel to Toulouse if they took second and third spots.

That's what I was told also .
We then have 7 games to try & catch York & Rochdale .

A big well done to Sam Doherty to come in & score 3 tries ! Who were the other top performers ?

Next week end Toulouse v York
Rochdale v Keighley

It's all so unfair (possibly) again ... these play offs.
Tell me what is wrong with having 9
nine teams in the extra play offs?
Then if you played any team away in rounds 1 to 14, you now play them at home and vice versa.
Then the top whatever do knockout games.
Yes I know it's not giving higher up teams advantage in these eight games, but it's bloody fairer and they will still have advantage in the knockouts.
I know you might not get 4 away and four at home but so what?

I assume the idea is to give the teams more reason to get as high up as possible to have home games against the so-called higher ranked opposition. It makes sense to me and gives the initial league games more meaningful. I can't see how it's unfair.

We would only have York and Barrow away of any meaningful clubs, the rest of the good clubs we would have at home ....
See how we have been shafted?
And how we may be shafted again and having to play Toulouse away again and possibly again after that?

My system merely makes it fairer, there is no advantage, that's the point.

The ideal thing is play each team home and away, if that is too much trouble, put it right with the top 9 extra games.

Teams would swap position and surely that's exciting?

Then knock-outs.

This top 8 .... extra seven games is just another level of unfairness.

My way would take longer though with more conflict of fixtures, but so what?

The incentive is already there ...
Finish in the top nine and as high as possible getting ready for the play offsoffs.
But don't think you are going to benefit from more unfairness, because the extra games will rectify any injustices.

yeah, but shouldn't there be an advantage for the teas who have played better ? hat's wrong with a meritocracy ? I don't know if the present system is the best but maybe a perfect system doesn't exist. As said before I would play everone home and away with P & R for the top two and a play-off for a third promotion place against the third bottom club in the Championship. Not perfect either but another option.

They haven't necessarily played any better, but played more rivals at home.
Can't you see the injustice in that?
What if Donny had drawn the seven best teams at home and the seven worst away?
