According to the Barrow chairman, the League One Cup has been scrapped. Here are some more of his views on the terrible league structure in our division:

It's a start.
Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies.

I agree it's a start. Abandoning the cup could give clubs and the RFL the opportunity the possibly introduce the same structure as the Championship with everyone playing each other home and away before the league splits.

The Barrow chairman has got it right: it's very difficult to drum up decent support when there are so may unattractive, non-competitive games in the league. I would like to see this addressed. It must be in everyone's interest for both sides in every game to have a realistic chance of winning. At the moment that's certainly not the case with too many one-sided matches.

There need to be more leagues games than now and they need to be competitive affairs. I hope they use that as the template for moving this league forwards.
