Seems that without Kevin Brown the side are completely rudderless in attack. From the sounds of things some decent possession again but no guile to get someone over the try line.

I had expected a bit more from Joe Mellor but he seems to have shrunk from the responsibility a little. There are more wins to come I'm sure but the disappointing thing is that we have lost key games against teams around us.

As for the team. I do think there is some decent talent in there but Brown is obviously the cog in the machine that makes the rest work. We are the very epitome of one man team.

As for the HKR fans on here. Thanks for your nice words. All tributes should be honored and respected. Especially RL greats which that man was.

I thought as a Rovers fan at 12 6 down you were attacking us and coughed the ball up and we scored which killed the game, but like us your not far off. Plenty of aggression with Brown you'll win more than you lose

As a Salford fan I feel you let us off tbh.

We didn't play as well as we have seen in other games this season and yet managed to find a way to win. I think both teams are very similar on ability and both struggle with consistent performances which separates us from the big boys. You have that awful misfortune of having to turn over a bad losing streak which is really hard mentally as a team to overcome. We're similar in that we've worked hard for victories to have them taken away (rightly or wrongly. Different thread...) and it's really affected the team as a group.

When that next victory comes, you probably wont look back.

I think two things happened in the game to be honest. We lost our impetus in the second half as Heremaia went off injured and you really turned your discipline around in the second half and our yards were harder to come by.

I know that nearly all teams have suffered with injuries this year but then other squads seem to have capable deputies in those afflicted areas. Losing Brown has been massive for us and more so because we then lost Gilmore his stand in. I thought Brown on Saturday showed an occasional glimpse of what he brings but he's still out of sorts having just returned and I reckon it will take a week or two for him to rediscover his form but things should look brighter after that.

Can't have been easy for your lads. That performance against Saints early doors was one of the most impressive I've seen of any side this year and for most of the game against Warrington too. It's definitely not the fault of this crop of players or the fans what your administrative side gets up to.
