Super League will introduce golden-point extra time to regular-season competition from 2019.

A statement issued on behalf of the 12 Super League clubs confirmed the rule change is among a series of "exciting innovations" for next season.

It will be two 5min periods of extra time = 10 mins, and then a draw if no score

Sometimes after a really hard game a draw is the right result, maybe chasing the Aussies isnt always the right way to go

Not a fan of the Golden Point for league games but there aren't many draws anyway. As it stands if scores are level players start attempting drop goals to win a game.

In the last four seasons Hull have had one draw in the league in 120 matches.

An extra 10 minutes of drop goal attempts is not my idea of excitement.
Glad to see free play rule go.

shot clock also rumoured to be coming in for scrums drop outs and conversions. good thing imo, should reduce time wasting
The referee's indecision is final

ive watched many a good aussie game, some with great fight backs to secure a draw, being ruined by the awful golden point.

I'm all for it, especially since we have Sneyd on our team.

Can't wait to be sat in a freezing, silent KCOM til 11pm (allowing for the extra time allotted for R Hicks show etc.) watching a masterclass in missing drop goals. It'll make the drive back home to Leeds much more fun in comparison, I suppose.
All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason.
