Abdull Watch : Sat Feb 11, 2017 12:00 pm
I like Abdull and I still have hope that he can become a good player for us so I want to keep tabs on him during his loan spell. I tried to go to the Rovers message board but my phone won't scroll down that far. Does anyone have the inside track on how he's doing?

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

This is what the HDM said against bradford...

Jordan Abdull: Credited by coach Tim Sheens post-match for his work-ethic, Abdull made valuable metres and used his strengths wisely - albeit conceding a Bulls try through an intercepted pass. 8

It's like it runs out of memory as it has to move past all of the teams between FC and KR. And when you get there it then filters out the link as spam. I think I need to go into the settings and Enable Junk. Also I think I need to install a new font package because any mention of Rovers is showing up as a line of dog poo emojis.

Abdull didn't throw an interception that led to a try. I think he's been confused with Addy.

He went well. If he deserved an 8, so did most of the team, but then we did win by a clear 30 points so not outrageous.

Cheers. From the pictures it seems like he is looking fit at least. That and Sheens liking him in the starting role points to him taking his time with you seriously. My big worry was that he'd not make the most of his opportunity to establish himself as well as take advantage of learning from a top coach.

What happens if we, or Huddersfield, play Rovers in the MPG? If Ellis is contracted to Huddersfield and Abdull to us for next season, is this a conflict of interest and do the parent club have right to recall? I'd imagine not but if I were Ellis in the MPG for Rovers against Huddersfield with a valid Huddersfield SL contract for 2018 would I really be motivated to send them down? Same situation for Abdull if we were to play them.

It will be stipulated in the loan contract.

In soccer players are usually barred from playing against their parent club. From what I've seen it is the other way around in rugby and loanees are usually permitted to play. If we meet Robbers in the MPG or more likely the CC early stages, then I guess it comes down to where Sheens thinks his loyalties lie.

It's already been agreed that both players will be able to play against there respective sides if they meet in the middle 8s

Question on conflict of interest is an interesting one then. Ellis won't want to relegate Huddersfield in a Rovers/Huddersfield MPG with a guaranteed SL contract for 2018 already in place, unless of course Rovers put a better offer on the table. Abdull on the other hand as a Rovers fan would presumably love to send us down
